Hudra support

1. Install Hudra

Install Hudra from your browser's official extension store.

1. Open Hudra's listing in the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons.
2. Select the store's install button and confirm the browser prompt.
3. Confirm Hudra is enabled on your browser's extensions page.
4. Open or refresh the supported QLearn or Canvas lesson page you want to present.

2. Start a presentation

1. Open a supported structured lesson page on QLearn or an Instructure-hosted Canvas site.
2. Click the Hudra toolbar icon or press Alt+P.
3. Hudra starts automatically in single-screen mode or, when two usable displays are available, dual-screen mode.
4. Move through the lesson using Hudra's on-screen controls or supported keyboard controls.

In dual-screen mode, Hudra places presenter controls on the primary display and clean audience slides on the secondary display. Hudra presents the lesson content already on the page; it is not a replacement for the QLearn or Canvas page editor.

3. Quick troubleshooting

Hudra does not appear

• Check that the extension is enabled.
• Refresh the QLearn or Canvas page after installing or updating Hudra.
• Confirm the page is a supported structured lesson on QLearn or an Instructure-hosted Canvas site.
• Try closing and reopening the browser.

The presentation opens incorrectly

• Check that the lesson uses clear heading-based sections or the structure expected by Hudra.
• Reload the lesson and launch Hudra again.
• Test with other browser extensions temporarily disabled.
• Update to the latest Hudra release and the latest stable version of your browser.

Dual-screen view is not working

• Confirm the second display is connected and set to extend rather than duplicate.
• Hudra automatically uses dual-screen mode when it detects two usable extended displays.
• If the automatic arrangement is incorrect, exit Hudra, confirm the displays are configured correctly, and launch it again.

4. Report a problem

A useful bug report includes the Hudra version, browser name and version, page type, steps to reproduce the issue, and what you expected to happen. Screenshots are helpful, but remove student names, personal information and private course content first.

5. Why Hudra needs browser permissions

Hudra requests only the access needed to provide its presentation features:

• activeTab provides temporary access after you click Hudra or use its shortcut. Hudra uses it to inspect the selected tab and show an explanatory notice when a page is unsupported.
• scripting injects Hudra's packaged page-detection and presentation code into the selected lesson page. No remote code is downloaded or executed.
• storage retains only temporary session metadata needed to coordinate and restore an active presentation. Lesson content and generated previews are not written to extension storage.
• system.display detects usable displays and arranges presenter and audience windows.
• Host access allows Hudra to operate on supported QLearn and Instructure-hosted Canvas lesson pages. It is required for the new audience tab created in dual-screen mode because the original tab's temporary activeTab grant does not transfer to that tab.

6. Disable or uninstall Hudra

1. Open your browser's extensions page.
2. Find Hudra.
3. Turn it off to disable it temporarily, or choose Remove to uninstall it.

Removing Hudra also removes its locally stored extension data according to your browser's behaviour.

7. Contact and security reports

Do not send passwords, authentication details, student records or private lesson content. Suspected security vulnerabilities should be reported privately with the subject “Hudra security report”.
